Dear classmates of 4th hour Honors English,
I would like to thank each and every one you for the amazing year in this fantastic class. Although you probably only know of me from my defined, round, glasses and drunken stupor I knew all of you from watching from my little library. I may have been quiet, shy and a little creepy but I am glad that I now finally get the chance to tell all of you how truly amazing this year has been and that it will be very sad for me to see it come to an end.
I hope you enjoyed the story of Jay Gatsby as much as I did. Not to pick any favorites or anything but Mr. Gatsby was definitely at the top of my list. His parties were eccentric, vibrant and like nothing I have ever seen before. Gatsby may have seemed to be a lousy, old bootlegger on the outside but I believe deep inside that he was a true man going after his golden girl, Daisy. I will miss him dearly.
Gatsby was a great man. But in each and every one of us we have greatness to be fulfilled. We all have are dream that we are going after in life. I encourage each of us to be like Gatsby and go after that dream. "Tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther...and one fine morning- so we beat on, boats against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past." Just like Gatsby believed in the green light so should we. We will all have a dream like Gatsby's some time in our life and when we find it we will run faster and stretch our arms farther.
Once again, Honors English 10 class of 2013 it has been a wonderful year and an honor to work with all of you smart, outgoing people. It was truly magnificent to be with such a great group of peers. I made so many new friends and I will miss all of you next year when I no longer have you in my English class.
